Let me write about the farewell we organized for our seniors in this post. There are so many things to share with you all. Do not know where to start from! I had chosen the theme ‘Red carpet’ for the party. Most of them were quite apprehensive while I was confident of the theme. I had chosen this theme because not all of us would become celebrities and get an opportunity to walk on a red carpet formally. After deciding on the theme the first job to be done was to finalize the date, time, gift and food for the party.
It is not a joke to organize a party for about 400 people which includes the heads of the departments etc. Believe me I had absolutely no outsider to help me with this task. People who worked for the farewell were mostly my friends. In a way the lack of cooperation from others helped us get the full credit of putting up a decent show! We did not have to share the good name with anybody else. But I would say that the three days before the farewell were the most stressful days of my life until now. I had to organize the events to entertain seniors as well. I wanted to run away somewhere! But I told myself this was probably not even half of the amount of stress I would have to go through in my grown up life later on!
I made a cute 11 and a half minute movie on friends and college. At the end of it all I made them take an oath that read as follows ‘We the final year students of Stella Maris do solemnly pledge that we will stay in touch with each other, come what may. We will call each other even if we have low credit and make the best use of modern technology available to keep in touch’. This was the highlight of the event. Well, I do not know how many of them actually liked the farewell. I would say that if just one person’s full effort could make this a great show, it would have been the best if there was more participation and team effort!
