I am doing my Part time MBA and specializing in Finance. Though I have heard many Finance jargons before I joined a B School, I got a clear understanding of the terms only after I was taught these in the classroom. Trust me, its fun. I think Finance is a very interesting subject. Since I am in a mood to discuss Finance, let me use the opportunity to explain a few terminologies in this post. Have you heard of Certificate of Deposit? People call it as cds. I think most of you are are aware of Fixed Deposits. CD is similar to FDs and Savings Accounts. In a CD, you will have to deposit a fixed amount of money for a fixed period of time in a bank or financial institution. Though it is not risk free, there is very little risk involved in this kind of investment. It is a safe haven for those of you who are sceptical about investing in equities or bonds. The returns on CDs are reasonably high and sufficient for middle income group. If you are still not clear about what CDs are, you can just search it on the internet. Debt

All of us are aware of the sub prime crisis that has repercussions all over the world. It has affected every person in this world directly or indirectly. It is well known that the crisis had its deep roots in debt. In common parlance, we call it borrowing. Most of them had borrowed from the banks in the form of home loans and most others borrowed in the form of personal loans. Repaying the loan is not as easy as qualifying for a loan. It is quite easy to get loans especially if you have a good credit rating.

Sleep

Everyday when I am in office, only one thought would run through my head. When will I come back home and lie down on my bed. Life is so stressful at work that I feel I am coming to heaven when I return home. I hate to accept but that is the fact. I look forward to coming home and taking rest. I imagine relaxing on my bed and feeling the Mattress Topper, pillows and my own little teddy. This very thought relaxes me and removes all my stress. Life at work is really really demanding. You need to have the right amount of sleep to cope up with such a demanding career. Many people tend to ignore this fact and face serious health problems in their old age. Better watch out and make sure that you get the right amount of sleep and rest. Having said that, I would also like to mention that one should not over sleep as well. That would make you lazy. So better strike a right balance between your work and health

Cards

Hurray!!! It is festival time now. Christmas and new year are coming near and it is the most exciting season of the year for me. I am sure that most people would agree with me in this regard. this led me to ponder about why I am so happy in this part of the year. Is it because of the festivals and their significance? Or is it because I get to share my happiness with my friends and relatives? I really wonder. But my gut feeling makes me think that it is the latter. The fact that I would meet all my friends and relatives during Christmas and New Year is what brings me unbound happiness. The fact that I share my happiness with them and the fact that we wish each other with gifts and cards makes me even more happy :)

It has been one year since I joined my firm and I want to wish my colleagues and bosses to have a better rapport with them. I think 'll get them those nice Corporate Christmas Cards along with a small gift for each one. Seems to be a nice idea.

How many of us take resolutions when we have the New Year around? I am one of those crazy persons who takes up weird kind of resolutions every New Year. This time, I thought I can take up something sensible. Some resolution that will make me a better person, both mentally and physically. My parents have a complaint about me that I have poor health and that I don't take care of myself properly. so I have decided that in 2010, my first goal is to remain fit and healthy. Now how am I going to do that? Well, I have enrolled myself in a nearby gym from January 1st 2010 :) Isn't it a good decision? I have taken an oath that I will exercise daily and keep myself fit. I am so excited about starting off my gym sessions and guess what? I have already started shopping for the same. I got two pairs of Reebok shoes and 3 T shirts in a sale. I got a great deal you know? I happened to get shoe coupons which was real value for money. The discount offers are great now. Anyways, I am done with my shopping now and I am waiting eagerly to start my gymming!! :)
